Disney bought Star Wars in 2012. Then in 2013 the Star Wars franchise added expanded universe books and stories to the canon of the main story line, which is sort of great, but would likely confuse fans who never read any of this non-movie content. Then Disney jumped in a year or two later and nuked all expanded universe content from canon so they could control the story alone. Like an empire. I'm a little mad now.
